making disciples of Jesus
It was fantastic to join with the combined churches of Deloraine in presenting the Carols on the Riverbank on Saturday 17th. The weather was magnificent, and a great crowd of locals of all ages joined together to hear the Christmas story told through story and song. Our minister Josh got the privilege of giving the message this year and told the story of Jesus birth using unexpected props (like a glu-stick because Joseph stuck with Mary, and a bar of soap with some socks to remember the shepherds in the field). He shared the good news of Jesus, God's gift to all of humanity, who came to restore us to right relationship with our creator and challenged all who came to investigate seriously the claims of Jesus for themselves afresh this Christmas, to discover the true joy and hope that Christmas brings.
A massive thank you to all in the community who worked so hard to put the night together!
We enjoyed the opportunity to share morning tea together at the rectory. It was a chance to share life together, enjoy great coffee and kitten cuddles.
We're excited to be launching the new website for the Anglican Parish of Deloraine!
Some of the website is still under construction, and we will be updating it regularly over the coming months, so make sure you check back regularly.
Please have a look around, and feel free to send us feedback using the 'Get in Touch' page.
We'd love to see you on Sunday!
