gather at 'the hearth'

Picture
Last year, we launched a 'once per month' evening of Worship and Bible study. This was a place to begin to explore what it might mean to come together as God's people, regardless of our church affiliation, to lift our voices and our hearts in worship and to encourage one another as we read the bible together.
During the Covid shutdowns, we have been praying and reflecting a lot, and asking God about his purposes and direction for the various ministry areas that we are involved in. As a lot of people have experienced, Covid has us an opportunity to consider just how busy life was, and whether we want to simply continue to do all the things they used to do. While the bible study evening itself wasn't just a 'busy task', we began to increasingly feel that God wanted to shape it and use it.
This Sunday (27th September), we relaunch the evening under the new name 'The Hearth'. We are moving to join together more frequently (on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month), and there are a few other changes as well.
I have attached a PDF document to this post so that you can read the idea behind the name, the heart and purpose for the evening, and see some of the other changes that we have made.
As we re-launch, we are going to be studying Paul's letter to the church in Colossae - a letter that speaks boldly of the supremacy of Christ and his sufficiency for us. Josh and Naomi will be hosting us this week, with a hearty (and gluten free) stew to warm us into the evening.

So please, come gather at 'The Hearth' with us.

blessings in Him, Josh
